We strive to make our business
experience as pleasant as possible, and we'll make every effort to insure that you
DON'T need a return, but occasionally something happens.. We understand, which is
why you have this page of legal stuff to read. Our number one policy is to treat
the customer fairly, which is why we are in business in the first place-to meet your
computing needs!
Please take
a moment to read these policies, and understand them. Then if you've
got any further questions, please don't hesitate to call our office
to resolve any question. If we can, we'll answer it immediately!

Our warranty offers vary based
on the items offered. Yeah this sounds unusual, but we sell new, used,
refurbished, and otherwise unknown, so the warranty will vary from
one product to another. The minimal warranty on any complete system
is 60 days.
1. Any item sold as working
is guaranteed non-DOA. If it is DOA (dead upon arrival), we will repair
or replace at our discretion. Warranty is entirely invalidated if
the system has been tampered with, or if any security seal is lifted/broken/removed.
2. Systems. Refurbished Powerbooks
& iBooks are guaranteed in good working condition for 60 days
from the date of purchase. This is exclusive to hardware issues and
does not apply to batteries. Used Powerbooks & iBooks are guaranteed
in good working condition for 30 days from the date of purchase. This
is exclusive to hardware issues and does not apply to batteries.Warranty
covers issues such as failure to operate as originally intended,and
is deemed failure unrelated to physical abuse, misuse, or unusually
high use. All systems shipped with a security seal to ensure warranty.
Warranty is void if seals show signs of tampering or are removed.
3. Repairs. Laptop repairs are guaranteed
for a time period as specified with the individual repair. Repairs are not eligible
for refund unless we specifically agree to a refund at our discretion. This includes
(but is not limited to) all forms of repairs for laptops, as well as any upgrades
or modifications we may make at the purchaser's request. All other terms and policies
apply.
4. New items. These are items
normally covered under the warranty of the manufacturing company.
We will make every effort to help you arrange repair by the manufacturer,
but the responsibility is on the manufacturer, not Wegener Media.
Warranty time varies depending on the item. In addition we may offer
an extended warranty on an item solely at our discretion.

All sales are final, unless we agree specifically
to a return. Items are sold "As-is". Items returned without authorization
(RMA#) shall not be accepted for return.We generally replace items rather than refund
for them, and offer refunds only at our discretion, and only if we do not have a
replacement item in stock. Garage Sale items are sold completely "as-is"
with no warranty, and are not returnable.
In order to get assistance
with an issue, or to get an RMA#, please telephone our offices at
(803) 926.1555. It is required that you telephone to our Tech Support
office in order to get help and to acquire an RMA. We will issue an
RMA after a tech has assisted you in determining that the issue is
related to your purchase. Please note that an RMA # does not guarantee
a warranty coverage - we must receive the item IN GOOD CONDITION,
then we can test and determine the actual issue.
Return items shall be shipped, both insured
and verified to WM offices. Purchaser is responsible for shipping costs to return
items. Items shipped improperly shall not be considered for return, period. If you
expect us to accept it, it should be returned in the same manner in which it was
shipped-we cannot be responsible for improper packing.
We prefer DHL,
but also accept Fedex and USPS (US Mail). We do not ship UPS, and do not accept
UPS shipments. If you ship UPS to us, it will be thrown away or
turned over to legal authorities. This policy is a result of repeated
negligence by our local UPS management, and it will not be changed,
so please don't ask us to. Please note: We have recently experienced
a significant loss due to Fedex driver negligence, so we recommend
you take precaution. Fedex's contract leaves them free to NOT pay
for driver negligence, so buyer beware! DHL is the only company (which
we know of) which will take responsibility for its employee's handling
of your package.
Items returned without verbal or written
return authorization shall not be eligible for refund, and purchaser shall be responsible
for shipping costs.Items returned beyond 30days after purchase shall not be eligible
for refund. Items returned without authorization shall be sold for storage costs
after 30 days if purchaser does not claim them. This is without exception.
We refund the purchase price
of items returned 1. with authorization, 2. in good working condition,
3. delivered according to our policy stated, minus a 15% restocking
fee or a $10 minimum (whichever is higher). We do not refund shipping
charges, insurance, or other fees. Customized installations or customized
projects are NOT eligible for refund. Non-defective product returns
of in-stock items may be accepted for store credit within 20 days
of purchase only at seller's discretion, and are subject to a 20%
restocking fee ($20 minimum). Under extraordinadary circumstances,
non-defective product returns of in-stock items may be accepted for
cash refunds within 7 days of purchase at seller's discretion only,
and are subject to a 30% restocking fee ($30 minimum), as well as
any configuration or setup charges which may apply. Items which are
returned as defective but found to be non-defective are subject to
a 20% bench test fee ($20 minimum) and all shipping charges.

Please note:
UPS
shipments are NOT acceptable for returns.
Shipments need
to be delivered by Airborne, Fedex, DHL, or USPS (the Post Office).
Packages which are not properly packaged are not acceptable for
returns. Please pay close attention to detail. If your shipment
arrives damaged, you are responsible.

RETURNS SHIPPING DAMAGE INFORMATION:
If your item arrives damaged, it will be
handled in the following fashion.
Improperly packaged items will NOT be processed
for insurance claims. Please package carefully!
Airborne & Fedex damage Claims: These
will be processed immediately, and a representative of the shipping company will
be notified to contact you.
USPS Claims: Due to the
extremely time-intensive manner of the USPS claims process, we charge
$40 to process a USPS claim for you, and it will take us 5-10 days
to make the claim application.
UPS damage claims: We
DO NOT ACCEPT UPS shipments. See above for info on UPS
shipments.
We do not guarantee any claims, and it
will be your responsibility for any follow-up on a claim.

How fast do we ship? We make every attempt
to ship your order the SAME DAY we receive it. This isn't always possible, but we
do our best. If there is an additional delay, you should be contacted within a short
time period.
We ship all continental US purchases via
Airborne Express. International shipments (also HI & AK) will be shipped either
Airborne Express or USPS, at our discretion. General shipping & Handling is $10
- 19, depending on the size, weight, and value of your purchase.
If you have questions about your shipping
costs, simply "Add to Cart", then when you've added ALL the items you want,
click the "Checkout" button (lower right corner of the Shopping Cart).
You will then see the total and the calculated shipping & handling charges.
Laptops are generally $20-24, depending
of course on weight, size, value, and speed of delivery. Our shopping cart will automatically
calculate shipping at the time of checkout, and will show you the charges before
you pay.
All Airborne shipments are tracked, and
you will recieve an email from our server the day it is shipped, which will include
your shipping & tracking information.
International shipping is
either via the USPS or via Airborne Express. Additional charges are
incurred on all international orders, due to the extra paperwork &
time required for packaging and shipping of international orders.
International shipments MAY incure customs/Duane/zoll fees & taxes;
these are outside the control of Wegener Media, and are the responsibility
of the receiver.
WM requires insurance on ALL returned
items. WM does not guarantee insurance replacement, though we will make every
attempt to help you get insurance claims met. Claims are the responsibility of the
purchaser. If you have a signature release on file with shipping companies, WM will
not be responsible for your item, period. This includes DOA items as well as damaged
items (we recommend you NOT have signature release).
Wegener Media accepts no responsibility
or liability for the use of, missuse, or abuse of any item purchased. Wegener Media
products are not intended for life-threatening use or critical applications. WM shall
not be responsible for failure of equipment nor complications arising from failure,
beyond replacement or refund of the purchase price of equipment.
Please understand: we do NOT try to sell
defunct stuff--that's what we use dumpsters for. Occasionally something will die..
Please call or email about any issues--we'll do our best to help you!
Items lost in shipping shall be between
the client and the shipping company. We do not cover your data losses, though
we DO make every effort to ensure the security of your data. Any items lost or damaged
will be covered at replacement value only. We will do what we can to aid you in your
claim, but we cannot be responsible for problems beyond our control. Receipts and
proof of value are generally necessary for any claim process.
We reserve the right to use our own boxing
for shipping of laptops. Experience has taught us that the manufacturers' shipping
boxes are sometimes inadequate, and some are also so large as to incur additional
charges for shipping. If you wish to use your original box for shipping, it must
be stated before shipping, and it will incur up to $25 extra in shipping charges.
Airborne Express, Fedex, and the USPS all offer boxing at free or greatly reduced
rates: we suggest that you ask for these items when making your shipment. If you
need us to provide boxing, we will be glad to do so, and can have a box delivered
to you for pickup of your laptop, at a reasonable rate.

You may choose to send your machine to
us for data transfer, diagnosis, repairs, etc. While we will do our best to guarantee
return of your data in perfect condition, we cannot guarantee this. We urge yout
to make every effort to backup your data prior to shipping it to us. We shall in
no way be responsible for the loss of, damage to, or other calamity concerning your
data. This includes but is not limited to corruption of files, loss of files, loss
of time to reinstall, loss of revenue, real or imagined loss, grief, stress, or other
pain.
Please make every effort to backup your
data prior to delivering it to our shop.
We make every effort to ensure the protection
of and privacy of your data, in accordance with all local and national laws. Hard
disk data is inspected only for diagnostics and testing when necessary, and all drives
are secured from public access while at our location.

We are committed to protecting your right to privacy. We collect information about
our customers solely to enable us to process orders, improve our web site, and
provide better products and services to our customers.
We do NOT collect data from your browsing,
and do not intend to. A cookie is temporarily collected when you place an order,
but is used SOLELY for the purposes of delivery of that purchase. It is discarded
automatically when you complete or cancel that purchase.
You are entirely anonymous when surfing
our site. We will never collect your data for any commercial or personal use, other
than to complete a transaction, without your consent.
If you purchase from us and
